GABLED HOUSE country estate | oxfordshire

On completion of the major landscaping works around this recently restored dower house, detailed planting plans were needed.

The gardens were divided into a series of areas by dry-stone walls, gateways, steps and terraces.  Some original mature trees and shrubs and the remains of an old Box parterre were retained, but the majority of the plans were for newly created beds and borders.

The Inner Courtyard required a degree of formality, integrating the old parterre with the new planting design and using dome-topped clipped Carpinus betulus to line the path.
