The design scope included part of the walled gardens to provide interest to a large expanse of lawn sloping away from the house into woodland.  

 

A formal central feature was created with used brick paving to give the impression of age. It was laid out in the style of a parterre surrounding a central armillary sphere, bordered by box hedging and interspersed with planting.
