The staged development of this rural cottage garden aimed to blend the property seamlessly into its surroundings, softening and blurring the transition between garden and countryside.

 

The design uses reclaimed and vernacular materials, and planting which combines cultivated species, grasses and exotics with native flora. It includes a new wildlife pond surrounded by swathes of wild-flower meadow, in the small field adjoining the property.
